Senior Speech Pathologist / NDIS Registered Behavioural Support Practitioner

Sarah assesses clients across the age span, discusses goals with the client and their support network, and delivers evidence-based therapy. Sarah collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure best practice for each individual.

Sarah is a graduate of the University of Newcastle, holding a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours). Committed to providing client and family-centered services, she brings a passion for enhancing communication across the lifespan, from young children to adults.

Drawing on relevant research and evidence-based intervention, Sarah tailors her services to meet the unique needs of each client. She places great importance on establishing strong rapport with her clients and their support networks, recognizing the vital role of collaboration in achieving individual goals.

In addition to her broad expertise, Sarah is trained in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), enabling her to offer specialized voice therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. She has also completed courses in Sounds Write and Talk for Writing, and has begun professional development in DIR Floortime. Through her dedication to ongoing professional development and compassionate approach, Sarah is dedicated to empowering her clients to communicate effectively and lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

BSPath (Hons), Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner, Medicare Provider, First Aid Provider, Mental Health First Aid trained, SoundsWrite Certified, LSVT Certified.

Sarah has engaged in further professional development since graduation and has been trained in:

  • Talk for Writing: an approach targeting written language and creative writing styles.
  • WIAT administration: using this assessment to accurately assess people’s abilities across academic areas.
  • Mental Health First Aid: training regarding how to respond when someone is experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Trauma Informed Care: training regarding how to make practices more friendly to people who have experienced trauma.
  • DIR floor time therapy: an approach using structured floor time play to develop social and language skills in young children.
  • SoundsWrite: a structured phonics program which teaches children the skills necessary for reading and writing.
