Mitch completed his Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at the University of Newcastle, NSW in 2022. Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Mitch Studied Bachelor of Exercise Science. Whilst studying his undergraduate degree Mitch worked at Educational Case Management as an Allied Health Assistant -Occupational Therapist, assisting Occupational Therapist in their therapy plans supporting children, adolescents & adults experiencing a range of disabilities.

Since graduating, Mitch has found an even stronger passion in paediatrics and mental health and has worked within private practice with the wonderful opportunity to support clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing disorder, ADHD & anxiety. Mitch has a passion for working with children & has relevant experience providing therapeutic interventions for children with a variety of challenges.Mitch is aware that there is not a singular approach to treating all individuals & aims to support children and families to reach their goals by providing an enjoyable, friendly and stable environment. Mitch enjoys employing therapy in fun and engaging ways to help children build safety & regulation to support overall learning & development. Mitch believes that in order to achieve desired outcomes, building relationships & working collaboratively with families is key.

When Mitch isn’t working, you will find him playing golf, hanging with family and friends, or exploring all of Newcastle’s beauty!

Qualifications

  1.  Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Mitch gained experience working as an Allied Health Assistant with children & adults experiencing a range of disabilities.
  2. Mitch has found an even stronger passion in paediatrics and mental health and has worked within private practice with the wonderful opportunity to support clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing disorder, ADHD & anxiety.
  3. Mitch has completed professional development within toileting and recently took part in OTA’s national conference where he gained valuable learnings and insights into the occupations of individuals across the life span and was able to workshop, create and feel inspired by knowledgeable, skilled and passionate Occupational Therapists.
