Faria Ghouse

Psychologist

Faria is a Provisional Psychologist with experience in mental health, behaviour, psychological assessments, psychiatric diagnoses, and treatment modalities. She has completed extensive training in psychological research, Work Disability Prevention and Evidence-based Psychological Interventions (EBPIs) such as Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT); Behavioural Activation (BA), Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT); Motivational Interviewing; Problem-solving Therapy; Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT); Mindfulness; grief counselling; and group counselling.

Faria has certifications in Behaviour Support, Risk-assessment and safety planning; Mental Health First Aid for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations; Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST); Accidental Counsellor Foundation skills; Domestic Violence Response; Mental Health First Aid for Non-suicidal Self-injury; and Human Resource Management.

Faria administers comprehensive psychological assessments,  comprehensive Risk assessments and develops evidence-based safety and behaviour support plans. She is proficient in psychological interventions, designing and implementing effective behaviour support interventions.

Faria works with individuals across all age groups and supports her clients to deal with mental health issues, developmental delays, disabilities, behavioural health issues, Parenting issues, bereavement or just everyday personal issues. She is multilingual (proficient in 8 languages) and offers mental health support services to individuals from various cultural backgrounds with a wide range of needs.​

As a clinician, she is patient, trustworthy, empathetic and non-judgemental. She strives to make a positive difference in her clients’ lives by significantly improving their mental health and behaviour—one session at a time!
