Georgia is a Social Worker.
Georgia is a new graduate however has been working in the community service industry for 5 years in mental health, out of home care, youth justice, NDIS and in an acute hospital setting. During Georgia’s time in community services, she has been a psychosocial case manager for young people and their families with acute mental health diagnosis supporting them to build goals, independence and work towards recovery. During university Georgia completed valuable courses on indigenous culture, mental health, trauma, safe cultural practices and interpersonal skills.
Georgia is an expert on person centred individualised mental health supports and crisis interventions techniques. This is evidenced through her training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, ASSIST suicide prevention training, Mental Health First Aid, Motivational Interviewing and specific training on cluster B personality disorders.
She believes in working from a person centred strengths-based approach utilising strategies that will build confidence and independence. Georgia is a social justice advocate and encourages her clients to have autonomy and self-determinacy within their care.
