Group Programs
We have created evidence-based educational and social programs to assist you or your child in specific development areas. Please see below a list of our current offerings.
Cool Kids Program - This is a 10-session program aimed at treating anxiety in children. It uses a cognitive behavioural approach which means that it focuses on teaching skills to manage anxiety.
Chilled Cool Kids Program - This is a 10-session program aimed at treating anxiety in teens. It uses a cognitive behavioural approach which means that it focuses on teaching skills to manage anxiety.
Wesmeads Feeling Program - An 8-week, evidence-based program to help students gain skills in consciously regulating their actions leading to increased control and problem-solving abilities.
The Alert Program - An evidence-based group program aimed at helping children to develop self-regulation, organisation, attention and focus. The group environment enables children to develop these skills with peers, learning from and with others.
Building Blocks - Based on the popular Lego Therapy model for social communication in children, this group program is aimed at children between the ages of 7-10 that focuses on several keys skills required for adequate social interaction.
Building Blocks Minis - Based on the popular Lego Therapy model for social communication in children, this program is aimed at children between the ages of 4-5.
The Social Squad - This is a social skills group program aimed at children between the ages of 11-14. The program focuses on developing social communication and within this program, children will learn a range of skills they can use to build friendships and connect with the community.
Teen Team - Fun and engaging group therapy aimed at adolescents between the ages of 14 - 17. Within the program, teens will be able to showcase their special interests whilst improving social skills and building friendships.
School Readiness Program - Aimed at children starting Kindergarten, this gets kids ready to start their schooling journey giving them the tools for emotional regulation, communication, learning and building relationships.
Drumbeat - Developed by Holyoake, Drumbeat is an evidence-based program which promotes social understanding and connection through team drumming experiences. This program targets children who may be resistant to "talk-based therapies". Click here for more information.
Drumbeat Beatz – Is a modified version of Drumbeat for children aged 4-7 and is an evidence-based program promotes social understanding and connection through team drumming experiences.
Life Skills - Assisting adult clients in understanding valuable skills for functional life including money handling, budgeting and saving.
Writing Wizards – Is designed as an afterschool group that targets written expression in a fun and interactive way. The group teaches a range of text types including narrative, recount and persuasive writing. Elements of the group also include teaching reading comprehension skills, grammar and spelling.
Writing Wizards Holiday Workshop - Is an intensive workshop designed to target written expression skills, spelling and grammar in a fun and engaging way. The group provides practical lessons which are then written about such as narrative, recount and procedure.
The HIVE - The Hive is a group program designed for those who are transitioning into their next stage of life. This group program will benefit those who have plans to attend University, TAFE, gain employment, become an apprentice and so much more.
Mindfulness Through Movement – This group program brings together mindfulness and CBT based Yoga to assist clients in understanding how movement and mindfulness together can help us change our thoughts and reduce anxiety.
Language Craft Group Workshop – This school holiday program focusses on language development through craft and creativity. This program targets key areas such as following directions, task attention, vocabulary development, recall and sequencing.
DBT for Girls – Is an intensive program based on the Dialectcal Behavioural Therapy for girls aged 15-21.
Sensory Spies - Is group program which covers our five main senses as well as our other three ‘hidden’ senses. Children will become experts in investigating their own sensory preferences and work on building tolerance towards their sensory dislikes.
Peaceful Kids - Is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children. The program gives children the skills, practice and support to utilise coping strategies that lessen the symptoms of anxiety and stress.
Kinder/Year 1 Social Skills – This group program focusses on social skills through targeting body language, turn taking, friendship skills, conversation skills.
Talking Together - 'Talking Together' is a parent lead training program and uses evidence based methods to educate and empower parents of late talkers.
Literacy Skills for Teens - is a program designed to teach students in secondary school valuable written expression skills to help them progress through their classes. The program uses evidence based methods such as Talk for Writing and Sounds Write to develop the writing, spelling and reading abilities of secondary students in a fun and engaging way.
Tali Program - Tali Train is a digital (Ipad) play based cognitive training program designed to improve core cognitive performance. This group program is an evidence program that has shown positive results by strengthening the executive, selective and sustained attention skills
If you are unsure about which program would suit you or your child best, please get into contact with your clinicians at ECM and they will be able to provide you with a recommendation of suitable groups. Or alternatively, email administration on info@ecmonhudson.com requesting your clinicians recommendation of group therapy and we can pass this on to them for you.
