We help children reach their full potential and assist you in gaining a better understanding of their needs.

Children playing in Newcastle after receiving child psychology services

Good health in childhood is critical to human development. This includes not only physical health but mental and emotional health as well. If you have concerns surrounding your child’s mental, emotional or behavioural health, the therapists from Educational Case Management can help. We specialize in child psychology at our Newcastle office.

Our clientele

We work with children from birth to age eighteen, although our child psychologists specialise in addressing early childhood concerns for children up to five years of age and adolescent concerns for children age twelve and up. No matter the age of the child, however, we help them meet the appropriate developmental level for their age group.

The children we work with come to us with a wide variety of challenges, and we specialise in many of them. These challenges include:

  • ADHD

  • Academic Giftedness

  • Adaptive Functioning Disorders

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Behavioural Disorders

  • Depression and Anxiety

  • Developmental Delays

  • Genetic Disorders

  • Learning Difficulties

Whatever your child faces, we will help them to identify and develop the self-help skills that are necessary for them to cope with their challenges.

Our solutions

Even if two children present the same problem, they do not necessarily require the same solution. As we work with your child, we will develop a plan to address their challenges in a way that will work best for them. We do this by profiling your child through standardized assessments, assessing their intellect and identifying their presenting problems.

After a thorough assessment of your child, we will determine a diagnosis for their struggle. From there, we will develop a treatment plan based on your child’s personality, history and diagnosis. Treatment plans may include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EDMR)

  • Mindfulness Therapy

  • Psychoeducation

We will also recommend adjustments to the child’s lifestyle and education.

If you feel that your child would benefit from these services, please call our Newcastle office on (02) 4969 8060.
